Weight Loss Journal

July, 2002

July 6, 2002

It's been WAAAAAAAY too long since I've updated this journal.  And there's so much to tell!

Well, for starters, I have joined Weight Watchers!  I have been attending meetings since May.  As of this morning, I am at 230.5 pounds!  This was a 1.5 pound loss since last week, and I had been maintaining for the last couple weeks.  My weight loss seems VERY slow compared to when I first started my journey.  It used to FALL off!  But I have less to lose now, so I suppose that's a good thing. :-)

Now for an update on school.  I started nursing school last August, which is the main reason my journal has been on the back burner for so long.  I have completed 3 clinicals so far:

In addition, I will be completing these rotations this fall:

Next spring, I will be doing a second Med/Surg (critical care) at a hospital TBA. :-)

I am still working at the nursing home (part time now), and I also work PRN at Parma Hospital.

Obviously, I've been quite busy! ;-)  However, I plan to update my journal regularly.  Let's see if I can stick to that plan!

Sheesh ... what a day! :-/

It started out just like any other Saturday. I went to my WW meeting and lost 1.5 pounds. I even updated my journal on the website! Hey, it was a pretty good day!

But it all went downhill from there ...

You see, I went to the nursing home. I had a pretty bad night. I didn't get done with my work until it was time for me to leave. And just when I thought my night couldn't possibly get any worse ...

I hit a deer on my way home. :-( I was on the highway going about 60, and I couldn't stop or swerve in time. I'm okay ... but the deer isn't, and neither is my car. I already filed an accident report with the highway patrol and contacted my insurance company. (Yes, at midnight - I wouldn't have been able to sleep. I'm still not sure I will be able to.)

I'm just really bummed because I've NEVER killed anything in my life before! And my CAR!!! My beautiful red car. :-( Well, it could've been worse. It's just my driver side fender/headlight and part of the hood. And I hear something scraping when I turn the corner. I know she'll be good as new once I get her fixed, though.

Again ... I'm OKAY!!! Just in a state of shock, still.

Let's just hope tomorrow is better, because I certainly can't imagine it being any worse! LOL!! I did have some comic relief at the police station - 5 18-year-olds were whining about being arrested for underage drinking! And SWEARING at the officers!!! Is it any wonder they were held in custody???

Now ... here's to a better day today!!
