OH MY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't updated this thing since May 21st! Well, obviously a lot of things have happened since then. Gosh, where do I start ...
I guess I'll start with an update on my weight loss. I'm 230 pounds as of last week! This week there was no change. That makes it a total of 124 pounds lost, and "only" 80 to go! Somehow, it doesn't seem like a lot - probably because I've already lost more than half of what I set out to lose. I'm going on my birthday cruise on 11/26/00, and I hope to be in the 210's by then. There was a period back in August where I was in a slump, but thanks to my wonderful exercise buddy on the Metabolife Discussion Board I am doing my Tae-Bo again. :-)
In other news, nursing school is going great! I'm fascinated by the strangest things now ... like how when your body needs something, it just produces it. It just "knows" ... you know? I'm telling you, "they" thought of everything when "they" made the human body. Last semester I got an A in my psychology class (Life Span Development) and a B in my anatomy class (Anatomy and Physiology I)! A&P was the harder of the two. It was TOUGH!!!!! But I'm happy with the grade I earned in it. My GPA is 3.28! Not bad, considering that I was kind of upset (because of work) while I took some of the tests. This semester I am taking a telecourse in humanities. And in the spring I will take Anatomy and Physiology II. Wish me luck!!!!!
Oh, I quit my job! Last Thursday, September 21st was my last day. It was getting to be way too much. How could I concentrate on my school work if I had to constantly worry if my employees were going to call me? So starting October 3rd I will be working as a nursing assistant at a nursing home. I have mixed feelings about this move. I know I did the right thing by quitting at BP, and I'm excited about being able to get experience, but I've never done this type of work before, so I'm a little scared at the same time. But I think I made the right decision. The nursing home will train me and certify me ... and after I'm certified I can get a job anywhere as an STNA!
I just looked back at my May, 2000 entry. That was back when I was having a lot of problems at work, so I couldn't take my vacation. Well, I finally did take my vacation in August. And from August 22-24 I was on Carnival Victory, the same ship I will be on in November!! It was beautiful. Click here for some pictures.
